Here is a list to the best concerts I've ever been to.

1. Bush w/ Moby - Fair Grounds Coliseum, Lubbock
I put this first on the list because it was the first concert I'd ever been to and it was probably the craziest. This place was so packed and it was difficult to breathe. People in the mosh pit up front were dropping like flies and being carted out.

2. Stephen Malkmus w/ Bright Eyes - Gypsy Tea Room, Dallas
I remember standing in line and saying "Who is Bright Eyes?" It was very awkward to watch as they would finish songs and some people would clap while others looked around wondering what was going on. My only regret is that I ignored them after the show. Although I did talk to Stephen Malkmus and Bob Nastanovich.

3. Our Lady Peace w/ Air - Deep Ellum Live, Dallas
My girlfriend and I just recovered from a 7 month hiatus. OLP was one of our favorite bands. During "One Man Army," Raine Maida climb to the top of the speakers about 10 feet above the stage. As he sang "I remember falling..." he dropped his mic to the stage and dove into the crowd.

4. Bright Eyes w/ Arab Strap - Trees, Dallas
I ran into Conor Oberst washing my hands in the bathroom. I was telling how cool I thought they were when someone came through the heavy wooden door hitting Conor in the head. He grabbed his head, yelped and ran out of the bathroom. The show still went on.

5. Azure Ray w/ Okkervil River - Haileys, Denton
I was the editor of the college newspaper and we had interviewed Azure Ray for a story the week before. I gave them a copy of the newspaper and we had out picture taken. Their show was awesome, but Okkervil River really blew me away.

Snuba Diving

I went on a cruise in the Gulf of Mexico after I graduated college. We stopped at Cozumel where I got to go snuba diving for a couple hours. I think that is where I developed the rash on my face. I had a huge welp across my forehead (I'm assuming it was from the goggles). The trip would have been cool if I hadn't had that across my face for the 2nd half of it.

Also, I got a little dehydrated on the trip and couldn't pee so well when I got back. Man, how things change.

Note to self: Go snuba and or scuba diving again.

When I was moving into my house and moving out of the duplex, I had a few things left at the duplex that I needed to pick up. I decided to stop by the duplex after work and grab those things. As I opened the front door, I released some pressure in the house that was holding the sliding glass door together and it shattered on the floor. My first thought was, "Oh crap, someone has broken into the house. Oh crap, they might be in there right now."

So I called the police. The police showed up in a couple of minutes to search the place. No one was found, so they wrote it up as criminal mischief.

Using my own detective skills, I found out that the lawn service had come by that day and mowed. They must have thrown a rock into the door, shattering it and then not reporting it. I didn't have to pay for it, so it's all cool. We even got our deposit back.

So, I was in Vegas a couple months ago and I watched this same water show on the strip. The water spouts would shoot up in synch with whatever music was playing.

The crappy thing about Vegas is that every 5 feet along the strip there are guys there handing out little cards with prostitute advertisements on them. These little cards and these people litter the whole strip. You can't even navigate. The strip is hard enough to navigate anyway. It's like a freaking 8 lane highway. Oh well..that's what I dislike about Vegas. Next time I'm staying downtown.

Clown Hair

One of my ex-girlfriends. OK, probably the only person I could ever consider as a "girlfriend" was scared to death of clowns. This photo would have probably made her cry.

Back when I had long, curly hair she used to call it "clown hair." I had this thing where I'd be looking off in some other direction and I'd open my eyes really wide and slowly turn my head toward her and look into her eyes. It would creep her out. Said it reminded her of a clown.

I've actually done this a couple times to myself in the mirror. It is actually pretty scary.
